The Jackson County IN Juvenile Detention Center is a medium to low-security detention center located at 150 E SR 250 Brownstown, IN that is operated locally by the Juvenile Justice Department and holds youths awaiting the determination of punishment for the crimes which they are accused. Most of the adolescents are here for less than two years.
The Jackson County Juvenile Detention Center is a 28-bed facility for juveniles 10 – 18 yrs. old who has been sentenced here through the Court system, as well as those awaiting placement elsewhere. This is a maximum security facility that operates a highly structured and secure environment and serves multiple jurisdictions in the State of Indiana.

It is the mission of the Jackson County Juvenile Detention Center to provide –through our structured program – a safe, secure and healthy environment for those juveniles placed in our care. We work closely with our local probation department and out-of-county agencies to ensure that all juveniles appear at the court hearings and successfully integrate these juveniles back into their communities.
